SRG are exclusively partnered with an independent and rapidly expanding manufacturer of speciality chemicals for industrial processes. As a result of their continuing growth, they are now looking to hire an experienced Laboratory Manager to join the team. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to manage multiple laboratory-based projects in a great company who produce sustainable, bio-based products in the sub-surface industry.

Role / Description:
- Managing multiple lab-based projects across R&D, Technical & QC.
- Overseeing the daily running of the lab to ensure high-quality output in line with project timelines.
- Allocating resources (both staff and equipment) across projects.
- Managing a team of 4 Chemists & Technicians, including appraisals and 1-1s.
- Co-ordinating with technical teams globally – specifically in Europe and USA.
- Maintaining laboratory compliance including H&S, COSHH and MSDS.
- Reviewing current laboratory processes to understand improvement areas.
- Liaising with the Sales team to understand market intel.
Requirements:
- Recent, proven experience of managing a lab in a chemical manufacturer (polymers, water treatment, speciality chemicals and inks/coatings/paints sectors will be considered).
- Recent, proven experience managing a team of Chemists.
- Degree-level qualified (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Polymer Science or similar.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and project management skills.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- A desire to make a difference and disrupt the chemicals industry.
