3 months temp position in Accrington, Lancashire (commutable from North Manchester, Preston & surrounding areas).
Pay: £14 to £17 per hour (inclusive of shift uplifts).
Hours: 35 hours per week, shift pattern based on 6am‑2pm, 2pm‑10pm, 10pm‑6am rolling rota, 5 days a week.
A driver's licence with access to a car is required as the site is difficult to get to.
SRG is working with a global manufacturer of industrial speciality chemicals who are currently looking to add to their QC team on an interim basis. Initially, the job would just be for an interim period of 3 months (then reviewed on a monthly basis afterwards) and would suit someone with a background in chemistry laboratory work from either a university project or equivalent work in the chemicals industry. Applications are encouraged from graduates or early career chemists. Training in laboratory techniques will be provided.
Role Description:- Analytical chemistry testing of raw materials to ensure they are fit for purpose.
- Maintaining laboratory databases and keeping accurate records of results.
- Ensuring compliance and adherence to health and safety guidelines.
- Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment.
- General laboratory housekeeping.
- Degree in Chemistry or A-level chemistry with hands‑on experience in a laboratory.
- Experience using analytical techniques would be beneficial (liquid and gas chromatography, viscometry, FTIR).
- Willing to work a rotating shift pattern.
- Driver's licence and access to a vehicle.
- Full right to work in the UK.
