The Royal Society of Biology is seeking a Membership Engagement Assistant to support the recruitment, engagement, and retention of our diverse membership of over 27,000 individuals. Working closely with two Membership Engagement Officers, this post will play a key role in delivering day-to-day membership processes, supporting communications, and helping to grow and engage our membership community.

This varied role includes:

  • Responding to member enquiries via email and telephone
  • Processing and verifying membership applications
  • Maintaining accurate membership records
  • Supporting outreach to prospective members
  • Assisting in delivering targeted email communications to prospective and new members
  • Contributing to the coordination and development of RSB's membership groups and networks
  • Maintaining marketing materials (both digital and print)
  • Supporting the promotion and delivery of membership events
  • Attending events, contributing to recruitment and outreach activities

This role would suit someone with strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience in a customer or client-facing environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively are essential.

The RSB currently offers a four-day working week (32 hours), which is non-contractual and reviewed annually.
