Location: Home Based and London.

The Royal Society of Biology is seeking a part-time Engagement & Grants Assistant to support the coordination, communication, and delivery of its grants, awards, competitions, and engagement activities including Biology Week. Working closely with the Senior Engagement & Grants Officer, this role will play a key part in ensuring these programmes run smoothly and effectively contribute to the Society's work.

This varied role includes:

  • Coordinating elements of the Society's grants, awards, and competitions portfolio.
  • Supporting administration processes.
  • Assisting with communications to members and partners.
  • Sharing outcomes, updates, and learning materials.
  • Contributing to social media and wider promotional activities.

A key focus will be supporting Biology Week, including:

  • Developing resources and activities for schools.
  • Assisting partners with their events.
  • Contributing to campaigns, newsletters, and both online and in-person activities.

The role may also involve supporting multimedia content creation to communicate biology in engaging ways.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, along with a proactive and creative approach. They will demonstrate a strong interest in the biological sciences and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. The role requires someone who can work collaboratively and is committed to continuous development and upholding the Society's values.

The RSB currently offers a four-day working week (32 hours) to full time staff. This is non-contractual and reviewed annually. Part-time staff are eligible to participate with a non-working day being accrued in line with internal policies.
