Overview

As the Matilda The Musical UK & Ireland Tour continues, we are looking for an experienced Sound No. 4 to join the company from July 2026 until January 2027.

The Sound No. 4 role contributes to ensuring the production runs smoothly and consistently throughout the tour, responding to challenges while upholding the show's original artistic vision.

The role includes supporting get-ins and get-outs, maintaining radio microphone systems, assisting with access performances, and working collaboratively with local crews and venue staff throughout the tour.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have

  • Professional theatre experience relevant to this post.
  • An understanding and practical knowledge of the principles and safe working practices of theatre sound systems.
  • Good communication skills.
  • The ability to work well in a small team.
  • A proactive, flexible approach and the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and local venue teams.
  • An understanding of other theatre departments and resident creative team.

Applicants must have an understanding and practical knowledge of the principles and safe working practices in all areas of touring theatre.

Contract Details

This position is offered as a full time, fixed term, touring contract until January 2027. There are 8 shows a week over six days (Tuesday to Sunday).
