Are you an exceptional fundraiser experienced in major gifts? Would you like to fundraise in the Arts? Do you have a proven track record in developing and building major donor and prospect portfolios? Is working as part of a brilliant and friendly team important to you?
We are looking for an established and experienced Major Gifts Manager, based in London, to generate valuable income to ensure that the RSC continues to produce thrilling theatre, advance arts education and incubate skills and talent. This is an active fundraising role that helps increase philanthropic support from individual supporters. You will manage a portfolio of around 100 prospects, with responsibility for engaging, connecting, building lasting relationships, and maximising opportunities to increase supporters giving five- and six-figure donations to the RSC.
Reporting to the Head of Major Gifts, key areas of responsibility include:
- Managing a portfolio of around 100 active supporters and prospects.
- Practicing moves management to progress prospects to ask for five or six-figure gifts.
- Stewarding relationships to ensure renewal, retention and uplift of support.
- Working with and representing the team at supporter events in Stratford-upon-Avon and London.
- Regularly meeting with supporters and prospects and delivering individual moments of stewardship.
To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have the following knowledge and experience:
- Exceptional fundraising skills and the ability to manage a varied portfolio of individuals and supporters.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience of creating persuasive proposals and compelling communications.
- The ability to represent the RSC at a senior level with prospects and supporters able to make five- and six-figure gifts.
- A great eye for detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure, within deadlines and to targets.
This position will be based in London and will require regular travel to Stratford-upon-Avon. This role is a full time, permanent position based on working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You will be required to work in the office or on site for a minimum of 3 days per week. Due to the nature of our work, occasional weekend and evening work will be required and there may be some international travel.
