The RSC is looking for an Assistant Stage Manager to join the team at Matilda The Musical in London. The appointed candidate would ideally start in mid July.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the Stage Management department to ensure the smooth running of performances and rehearsals.
  • Apply knowledge of principles and safe working practices in all areas of Stage Management.
  • Assist with the scheduling of performances: a Tuesday to Sunday schedule with matinees on Wednesdays and Saturdays and a mid-afternoon performance on a Sunday; and support comeback rehearsals on Tuesdays and Thursdays in a normal week.
  • Promote and support safeguarding practices for children, young people and vulnerable adults.

Qualifications

  • Professional theatre experience in stage management; previous West End experience desirable but not essential.
  • Strong understanding and practical knowledge of stage management principles.

Terms

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract for 12 months.
