Job Description:
Do you have demonstrable experience in producing theatre on both small and large scales? Have you toured in the UK and internationally? Are you experienced in managing budgets and negotiating contracts? Can you foster and maintain excellent relationships with a diverse range of people?
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Producer to support the Producing Department in developing and delivering the RSC\’s on-stage programme across various venues in Stratford-upon-Avon. The role focuses on supporting touring productions within the UK and internationally, with an emphasis on work created for and by young people.
Reporting to the Producer, key responsibilities include (please see the full job description and person specification for details):
- Supporting the delivery and smooth operation of high-quality theatrical productions aligned with the RSC\’s strategic and financial goals.
- Acting as a central communication hub for RSC departments to ensure efficient information flow.
- Deputising for the Producers during previews and major events.
- Supporting understudy rehearsals following press performances.
- Managing R&D processes for assigned productions once confirmed, outside of the New Works team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in the daily management and administration of theatrical productions.
- Experience working with young people in participatory settings.
- Proficiency in contract administration and negotiation.
- Interest in touring theatre, including educational and community outreach.
- Experience in budgeting and financial management.
This is a full-time, fixed-term role for 12 months, based in Stratford-upon-Avon, with work across various locations. The position involves 40 hours per week, five days, with occasional evenings and weekends.
