Do you have demonstrable experience in producing amazing theatre on a small and large scale? Have you toured in the UK and internationally? Are you experienced in managing budgets and negotiating contracts? Can you foster and maintain excellent relationships with a wide range of people?

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Producer to provide project and production support to the Producing Department, facilitating the development and delivery of the RSC\’s on-stage programme across performance spaces in Stratford Upon Avon. The Assistant Producers have particular responsibility for supporting touring productions in the UK and Stratford and focusing on work made for and by young people.

Reporting to the Producer, key areas of responsibility include (please see the full job description and person specification for the comprehensive list):

  • To support on the delivery and smooth running of excellent, high quality theatrical productions in line with the strategic and financial objectives of the RSC with the specific responsibility.
  • To act as a central coordinator and information point for RSC departments to enable communication to and from Producing to flow smoothly and efficiently.
  • To deputise for the Producers as appropriate, including during previews and key events.
  • To support any understudy rehearsal process following press performances.
  • To produce any R&D for an allocated production once confirmed and not held by the New Works team.

To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have the following knowledge and experience:

  • Experience of the day to day running and administration of theatrical productions
  • Experience of working with young people in participatory settings
  • Experience of contract administration and negotiation
  • Interest in touring theatre including to schools and community settings.
  • Experience of drafting and managing budgets

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 12 months, based in Stratford-upon-Avon but will work across various locations. You will be working 40 hours per week, 5 days per week, although occasional weekend and evening work will be required.
