Sports Graduate – Fixed Term 2026/2027
We are seeking a candidate with the ability to teach at least one or more of our sports to a high level: football, netball, hockey, cricket or strength and conditioning. Candidates may also have appropriate qualifications and experience in other sports such as dance, basketball, swimming or trampolining.
Responsibilities
- Teach and coach sports to children aged 3–18.
- Deliver pastoral care and support teams and individuals to succeed at all levels.
- Make a positive contribution to other areas of school life.
- Work primarily in the Senior School, with opportunities to support the Junior School as part of a through‑school model.
- Promote a competitive spirit within teams that balances high standards with mutual respect and support.
- Collaborate with a department of 35 staff led by the Director of Sport, Health and Fitness.
Qualifications & Experience
- Ability to coach one or more of our listed sports at a high level.
- Appropriate qualifications and experience in other sports offered by the school.
- Participation in sport through school, clubs or university, either through playing to 1st team level or gaining coaching experience.
- Preference for candidates on a "sandwich" year during a university course.
- Clear potential to operate effectively with children aged 3–18, delivering pastoral care.
Professional Development
- Opportunity to gain classroom teaching experience of academic P.E under guidance of a main experienced teacher.
- On‑the‑job PGCE support available in the second year for successful first‑year candidates.
