This role provides senior financial leadership to support the charity and its commercial subsidiary, ensuring high‑quality management accounting, statutory compliance, and strong business partnering across all core activities during and after the transition to the new Royal College of Pharmacy structure.

About the role:

  • Production of accurate monthly management accounts for Pharmaceutical Press.
  • Support budget holders with day‑to‑day budget management, including creation of annual budgets, cost tracking, variance analysis, and quarterly reforecasting.
  • Ensure robust financial accountability across all cost centres by setting and reinforcing clear expectations for budget holders, including adherence to the Budget Holder Framework, timely and accurate budget management, variance ownership, and full participation in monthly financial performance reviews; provide structured training, guidance, and follow‑up to build capability and sustain compliant financial behaviours.
  • Provide analysis on business opportunities, pricing, and costings to support strategic decision making.

Knowledge and Skills for this job:

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
  • Deep knowledge of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial controls.
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Experience of reviewing and improving Finance business systems and processes, with the ability to identify opportunities, propose enhancements, and support delivery of change.
  • Collaborative approach with strong stakeholder management experience.

How we are currently working:

RPS supports and works in a hybrid way, which means you will be able to work from home, however, there will be an expectation for collaborative face‑to‑face working – on average and typically this may be something between 4–8 working days per month at our London Office.
