The Cowes Clubhouse is a historic and recently refurbished property overlooking the Solent. It provides accommodation, year-round dining, and event facilities for members and guests, supporting a busy calendar of racing and social events throughout the year.

Role Overview

The Finance Officer is responsible for the accurate and timely management of day-to-day financial operations at the Cowes Clubhouse. Working closely with the House Manager and the Head of Finance, the Finance Officer ensures robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and compliance with company policies and statutory requirements. The role supports operational managers by providing clear financial information, maintaining records, and ensuring efficient processing of income, expenditure, payroll inputs, and reconciliations.

Person Specification

  • Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Accounts Assistant, or similar role.
  • AAT qualified or studying (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Experience working with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience in hospitality, leisure, or private members’ club environments (desirable).
  • Clear and professional communication skills.
