b Overview /b p As AI Governance Lead, you will establish and evolve RNLIs AI governance framework, ensuring safe, ethical and compliant adoption of AI across the organization. You will lead policy, standards, controls and risk management, aligning AI use with strategy, information governance and legal obligations. Working with multiple functions, you will oversee assurance activities and guide executive decisions, fostering a culture of responsible AI use. This role supports RNLI’s mission to save lives at sea by enabling confident, ethical AI-enabled operations. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li Salary: 42,479 - 49,976 (dependent on experience) /li li Flexible working /li li 26 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays /li li Competitive pension scheme /li li Life assurance /li li Health and dental cashplan option /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Develop, maintain and continuously improve the AI governance framework /li li Provide hands-on leadership for AI policy, standards, controls and assurance /li li Manage AI risk assessment and responsible adoption practices /li li Ensure AI initiatives align with strategy, regulatory obligations and information governance /li li Collaborate across business functions and with Information Security, Data Protection, Legal and other teams /li li Oversee assurance activities and support executive decision-making /li li Foster a culture of safe, confident and responsible AI use /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Degree‑level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as Data Science, Computer Science, Information Management, Digital Technologies /li li Experience as a subject matter expert on AI, researching or applying digital or AI tools to solve business problems /li li Ability to translate technical concepts into accessible guidance for users /li li Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to assess user needs and determine suitable AI solutions /li li Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams /li /ul ul li communication /li li stakeholder management /li li analytical thinking /li li AI governance /li li information governance /li li data protection /li /ul
