As a People Administration Supervisor at the RNLI, you will be responsible for the shared line management of our team of People Administrators; ensuring they have the guidance, support, and resources they need to continue to offer a great service to the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Prioritise and delegate tasks within the team to ensure a balanced workload that is flexible enough to meet demand.
- Ensure deadlines and service level agreements within the team are met.
- Drive continuous improvement including development of standard work and improved processes for the team.
- Maintain the overall skills set of the administration team in order to meet its objectives, including carrying out one to one meetings and performance discussions, individual coaching, and development.
- Provide guidance and support on basic People queries, policies and procedures, to the People Administration team, being the reference point on more difficult queries and any complaints.
- Ensure administration activity is recorded to support production of accurate People management information.
- Support the HR Shared Service Manager to deliver an efficient service to the RNLI, and deputise for them where required.
This work is fast paced and of high volume, and the successful candidate will be highly organised and able to demonstrate the ability to evaluate priorities and make operational decisions that enable services to be delivered quickly and efficiently, whilst maintaining a level of resilience.
You will ideally have previous experience of offering management support to a team, including conducting one-to-ones, supporting team wellbeing, morale and a positive working environment. You will have administrative experience that will enable you to get stuck in with the tasks at hand when needed, whilst also being able to review where admin processes could be improved for the team. An HR qualification is desirable but not essential.
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is a charity that provides, on call, a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service and a seasonal lifeguard service. Our lifeboat crews and lifeguards need a dedicated, professional, and talented team behind them, and this is where you come in. The People Administration team provide an effective and efficient administrative HR service to our staff and volunteers throughout their time at the RNLI from onboarding through to exit.
This role supports the HR Shared Service Manager and will manage a team of administrators on a day-to-day basis.
