The RNLI strives to prevent drowning, and we are offering a fantastic opportunity for a position as a Lead Lifeguard Supervisor to manage our operations across our North Pembrokeshire area for up to 7 months. This post is an exciting and challenging role, suitable for an individual with an enthusiastic approach and good people and leadership skills.
As Lead Lifeguard Supervisor, the successful candidate will manage a team of Supervisors across the Hastings area and work closely with a team of Lifeguards to deliver a safe and effective service on the beaches across our operational area. A sound knowledge of the beach environment and sea-based recreational activities, along with extensive experience in the provision of lifeguard services, is required.
In this operationally focused role, it is essential that you are an excellent communicator, able to manage yourself and others effectively while managing delivery to budget and deadline. The ability to deal effectively with a broad range of people and situations is essential, as well as a keenness to drive improvement and identify opportunities to best support the communities we serve.
Responsibilities:- Leading the supervisors through the recruitment, training, supervision and administration of the lifeguard team and the delivery of the lifeguard service in line with RNLI standards and procedure.
- Actively managing and being responsible for the budget of the lifeguard service, with a clear focus on the efficient use of people, equipment and money.
- Collaborating locally with partner agencies as well as nationally with others within the RNLI to support the effective delivery of the rescue service.
- Exploring opportunities within our communities for how we identify risks and create opportunities to save more lives. A good understanding of the local area would be advantageous.
In addition, you will need to maintain all fitness and proficiency criteria required by operational RNLI lifeguards. Previous supervisory and training experience is essential. A current, ILS recognised beach Lifeguard qualification is required.
Additional Requirements:- You will need to be IT literate, hold a valid driving licence, and have a flexible approach to working times that reflects the dynamic nature of the Lifeguard Service.
