Purpose of the role
The Digital Conversion Specialist is responsible for creating, maintaining and optimising RNID’s online payment/donation pages, boosting related conversion rates and ensuring a seamless user experience. Payment pages are required for marketing and fundraising campaigns and products, as well as always‑on content such as our online hearing check, and the role is central to enabling and increasing online giving. The postholder will be the organisation’s subject matter expert on online donation pages and payment processes.
The role
- Building, testing and maintaining compliant online payment pages and related transactional emails, currently using the Engaging Networks platform.
- Proactively identifying and implementing initiatives to improve conversion rates, for example A/B testing, installing alternative payment methods, and enhancing page and content design for optimal user experience.
- Managing relevant projects, including an audit of the existing approach, a longer‑term review of the platforms we use, and exploring new payment methods.
- Tracking, reporting and acting on data, including income received, projected income, conversion and drop‑off rates.
Essential skills
- Experience building and maintaining online payment/donation pages and transactional emails using a digital platform like Engaging Networks, or transferable experience building online content with a conversion element, and an aptitude for learning new platforms.
- Experience driving improvements to online conversion rates and knowledge of relevant techniques such as A/B testing.
- Experience tracking, reporting and responding to data/performance, ideally related to conversion/donations/payments.
- Experience with data analysis tools, ideally Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and/or Hotjar.
- Ability to act as a Subject Matter Expert and lead projects.
- Experience managing agency and/or supplier relationships.
- Experience working with and managing requests from internal stakeholders.
- Ability to learn and adhere to compliance regulations and accessibility standards.
- Ability to track and fix issues with payment pages.
- Ability to follow internal processes.
- Ability to learn and adhere to brand and style guidelines.
Desirable skills
- Knowledge of relevant fields, such as user experience, digital content or content design.
- Ability to review written content and suggest improvements for maximum impact.
- Knowledge of best practice relating to online payments and payment pages.
- Familiarity with PCI compliance and secure payment processes, cookie compliance, GDPR and PECR.
