Location: The role is primarily based at DDC Head Office, with regular travel to our Pentland Warehouse required, typically around two days per week, with flexibility where appropriate and mutually agreed.

The Role:

The Supply Chain Officer will be an integral part of the Purchasing team. The role will take ownership of stock flow, replenishment, supplier delivery coordination, and inventory analysis across the business. The role will work closely with our suppliers, profit centres and support function of the business to ensure products move efficiently through the business from purchase order through to final allocation and replenishment.

The Supply Chain Officer will play a key role in supporting inventory planning, maintaining stock accuracy, monitoring supplier performance, and ensuring strong communication across departments regarding incoming stock and supply chain activity.

The Supply Chain Officer will report into the Purchasing Manager within the Purchasing department.

Responsibilities:

  • Stock Coordination Replenishment
    • Take ownership of stock movements and replenishment activity across the business.
    • Create and maintain replenishment plans across retail locations and other sales channels.
    • Monitor stock levels, supporting seasonal forecasting and demand planning in collaboration with the Purchasing team.
    • Work closely with Warehouse Operations to ensure efficient allocation and movement of stock.
  • Purchase Order Delivery Management
    • Take ownership of purchase orders from confirmation through to receipt and allocation.
    • Liaise with suppliers, delivery providers, Goods In teams, and internal departments to monitor delivery schedules and resolve issues proactively.
    • Communicate delivery updates, delays, and shortages clearly across the business.
  • Inventory Analysis Operational Support
    • Maintain visibility and reporting across inventory levels and stock performance.
    • Analyse sales trends, overstocks, understocks, and supplier performance to support purchasing decisions and operational improvements.
    • Support Finance with invoice reconciliation queries and stock related investigations where required.
  • Collaboration
    • Build strong working relationships across departments to support efficient stock flow and commercial performance.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within purchasing and supply chain operations.

Skills Experience

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Comfortable analysing data and working with spreadsheets, inventory systems, and reporting tools.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks within a fast paced environment.
  • Previous experience within purchasing, supply chain, logistics, inventory, or stock management would be advantageous.
  • An interest in spirits, wine, beer, or premium retail products would be beneficial but is not essential.
