Location: Edinburgh (Haymarket office), with regular visits to our shops in Edinburgh, St Andrews and Pitlochry. Occasional travel to other marketing hubs or locations may be required. Hybrid working agreements can be discussed.

The Dormant Distillery Company operates one of the world’s leading whisky specialist retailers and wholesalers, Royal Mile Whiskies. Founded in 1998, the company also runs a specialist tobacconist on the Royal Mile - The Cigar Box - and, in 2011, opened specialist drinks retail shops in Edinburgh and Pitlochry under the Drinkmonger brand, with the vision of providing Scotland’s most comprehensive range of quality alcohol products. Alongside its online business, the company has developed a thriving wholesale business, supplying the on-trade across Scotland and beyond.
The Role
The Marketing Officer will report to the Marketing Manager and work closely with Profit Centre Heads across the business with a primary focus on Retail, Trade and Events. This role supports the delivery of brand-led marketing activity that builds awareness, reputation and engagement for our physical retail shops, trade business and flagship events. While the focus is on brand presence/building, partnerships and community-building, all marketing activity is commercially mindful to support growth. This is a hands-on creative role, suited to someone who enjoys being involved in day-to-day execution (creating content, managing social channels and supporting campaigns) while also contributing ideas and developing partnerships that drive footfall, trade engagement and event awareness.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior Marketing colleagues to support the development and delivery of integrated marketing plans aligned with wider business goals, with particular focus on Retail, Trade and Events profit centres.
- Deliver marketing activity that builds brand awareness and engagement, including campaigns to:
- Drive footfall to physical retail stores
- Support Trade initiatives and increase B2B
