Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking a Female Waking Night (27 hours per week) passionate Support Worker to join our incredible team in a service within Clacton-on-Sea.

As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs, which can be complex. As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will enormously contribute to the people we support, living a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life.

You will provide support during the night to the adults with a learning disability. Duties will include:

  • Supporting with personal care
  • Administering medication/PRN
  • Checking on general well-being
  • Carrying out laundry tasks
  • Some cleaning tasks throughout the night
  • Ensuring the safety of the people we support as well as maintaining the house

Typical shifts are for 9 hours (10:00 pm to 07:00 am) one weekend on and one weekend off. All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!

Due to the nature of this service, we are looking for female only applicants. This post is exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1. An enhanced DBS will be required for the successful candidate.
