About the Role

Mencap is seeking Relief Support Workers to join our team in East Sussex, working across three services in Uckfield, Seaford, and Newhaven.

As a Relief Support Worker, you will make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities, assisting with daily activities and providing emotional support.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily activities for people with learning disabilities.
  • Provide emotional and practical support throughout shifts.
  • Work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Potential sleep‑in shifts (2200‑0700) and non‑contractual sleep‑in with an enhanced flat‑rate payment of £64.20.

Qualifications

  • Genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and shift patterns.
  • Positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Suitable references and an enhanced DBS check.
