Mencap is seeking Full‑Time and Part‑Time Support Workers to join our team in Cranleigh. As a Support Worker you will support a small group of five people with learning disabilities, helping them with daily activities, emotional support, and social involvement in a shared chalet bungalow.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily activities at home and in the community, including cooking, shopping, cleaning, laundry and gardening.
- Provide personal care support such as bathing, dressing, mobility assistance, and medication management.
- Encourage residents to make their own choices, support communication, and promote independence.
- Support residents during outings, meals, holidays, and social events.
- Maintain health and safety standards and manage household responsibilities.
What we're looking for
- A genuine passion for supporting others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
Contract options
- Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
- Part Time – 25.5 hours per week
Shift times
All our services are 24‑hour care. Rotas are prepared at least 4 weeks in advance to allow you to plan personal and social life. There is also a non‑contractual sleep‑in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70.
