Join Mencap as a Support Worker in Chesterfield!

We're looking for caring, committed individuals to support people with learning disabilities within our complex care service. You'll help with daily tasks, personal care, medication, and activities—making a real difference every day.

UK driving licence will be required due to location of the service.

Qualities and Skills Required:

  • Relationship Building:Essential for gaining the trust of the people we support, establishing open communication, and building lasting relationships.
  • Patience and Understanding:Important for navigating challenging situations effectively.
  • Conflict-Resolution Techniques:Necessary for managing and resolving conflicts in a constructive manner.

What we're looking for:

  • A genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Experience within care work is preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
  • People who enjoy interactivity with the people we support.

Contract options:

30 hours per week

Shifts:

  • Between 07:00-22:00 (Varied shifts)
  • Two sleep in shifts required per week and paid at a flat rate of £64.20 per sleep
  • Must be flexible to cover weekends on a rota basis

All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references
