Do you have a few hours to spare each week or have a flexible schedule that you could pick up flexible shifts in and around the North Wales | Flintshire area? Mencap Cymru are looking for Relief Support Workers to join our incredible teams across Flintshire (Connah's Quay, Broughton & Mold). We are looking for people who are passionate about delivering real life changing person-centred support.
You could already be working in Social Care or perhaps you are in another role that isn’t related to social care, and you are looking to work in social care. You could have lived experience supporting a family member or a friend. If you answered yes to any of the above then we are keen to speak with you. We are looking for kind and compassionate individuals that can take on board and translate Mencap’s Values supporting people with a learning disability into real meaningful person-centred care and support.
This could be working in one of our supported living services where you will support our individuals with daily living tasks, supporting to access the community, attending appointments with GP’s, Opticians, Dentists and other health professionals. Doing the weekly grocery shop, supporting a person to a social event, going to the hairdressers, going on shopping trips or visiting the theatre and cinema. You could also be working with individuals who are super independent and have strong links to the local community and are looking for support workers who are keen to support them further in developing their skills and independence and require a few hours support at a time that focuses on achieving outcomes that really matter to them.
What we’re looking for:
- A genuine passion for supporting others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
- A full, valid UK driving licence and access to your own car would be beneficial to our services.
