Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our team in Leighton Buzzard on a 30hrs Weekly Contract.

As a Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily activities and provide emotional support to individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Build meaningful relationships through effective communication and person-centered support.

What we’re looking for

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.

Contract options

  • Part-time: 30 hrs

Shift times

  • All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!
  • Day shifts available between:
  • 09:00am to 15:00pm
  • 09:00am to 16:30pm
  • 10:30am to 18:00pm
  • 13:30pm to 20:00pm
  • Sleep ins available include a 12:00pm (noon) to 22:00pm shift.
  • A sleep in between 22:00pm & 07:00am, followed by a 07:00am - 12:00pm shift the following day.
  • You will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70 for the sleep in shift.
  • All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
