We are looking for Support Workers to join our service in Needham Market, supporting two gentlemen in their 40s who enjoy leading active lifestyles. This role is centred around promoting independence and helping the people we support continue to build their confidence and social skills.
The gentlemen are very independent and enjoy spending time in the community, attending events, exploring new places, and maintaining their social connections. One is a keen football fan and regularly travels to watch Ipswich Town play, while both enjoy occasional trips to London and days out further afield.
Alongside community‑based support, you will provide encouragement with everyday household tasks such as meal preparation, cooking, laundry, cleaning, and sorting through post. The focus of the role is enabling the gentlemen to remain independent while offering support and guidance where needed.
We are looking for someone who is friendly, enthusiastic, and enjoys getting out and about. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are a preference due to the active nature of the role and the travel involved. If you are passionate about supporting people to achieve their goals, develop their independence, and enjoy everything their community has to offer, we would love to hear from you.

Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK, as we are not able to support new visa applications or sponsorship requests for this vacancy. All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
Everyone is expected to treat people well and make Mencap an inclusive organisation. Every day we grow and learn. Everywhere people will feel respected, valued, and safe to be themselves.
