Mencap is seeking Male Support Workers to join our team in Blaenau Gwent.
As a Support Worker, you\’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will work with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. Your role will include assisting with daily activities and providing emotional support, playing a vital role in their lives.
What we\’re looking for:
- A genuine passion for supporting others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
- Must hold a full, valid UK driving licence and have access to your own car with Business Use insurance.
- Experience with challenging behaviour is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
- Willingness to travel to other services in the area.
Contract options:
Part-time (26 hours)
Most of our services operate 24-hour care. We prepare rotas at least 4 weeks in advance to help you plan your personal and social life.
There is also a non-contractual sleep-in option with an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70.
All roles require an enhanced DBS check and suitable references, including your most recent/current employer.
Holding a clean, valid UK driving licence is essential for this role.
