Do you want a role where no two days are the same, where you can build meaningful connections and genuinely make a difference in people’s lives? If so, a Support Worker role with Mencap in Lincoln could be perfect for you.

We are looking for caring, enthusiastic and reliable people to join our team. This is a community-based role, so being a driver is essential as you will be supporting people to get out and about to access their local community.

The people we support are independent and enjoy living active, fulfilling lives. Their weeks might include trips to the bowling alley, catching a film at the cinema, shopping trips, meals out, visits to day centres, going to dance clubs and meeting up with friends and family. At home, they enjoy relaxing with their favourite TV shows, doing puzzles and board games, knitting, cooking and spending time in the garden.

Your role will be to support them to maintain and grow that independence. This includes providing emotional support, attending appointments, and supporting with day-to-day household tasks. Most importantly, you’ll be someone who listens, encourages and celebrates every achievement, big or small.

We offer a range of flexible contracts including full-time, part-time and relief opportunities. If you are looking for shorter shifts, we can accommodate this, and there are also sleep-ins and weekend shifts required on a rota basis.

If you are compassionate, motivated and want a role where you can truly make a difference in people’s everyday lives, we would love to hear from you.

Our benefits package offers 24 days of paid holiday (excluding bank holidays, pro rata), along with a range of perks such as discounts at leading high-street retailers, access to health cash plans, interest-free loans, and many more exciting offerings.

Our vision is for the UK to be the best place in the world for people with a learning disability to live happy and healthy lives. We’re here to support people with a learning disability, their families and their carers. We fight for a kinder, fairer and more inclusive society for people with a learning disability to live in.

At Mencap, everyone works with people with a learning disability either providing support or advice, or alongside one another as colleagues. Belonging at Mencap is for everyone, every day, everywhere.
