Mencap is seeking a passionate, full‑time Support Worker to join our team in Leeds (LS17).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily activities and provide emotional support to individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Encourage and promote person‑centred activities such as independence in daily tasks.
  • Support engagement in community and recreational activities (e.g., volunteering, training, travel, sports, gardening).
  • Use driving skills where required to transport those who need mobility cars.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Demonstrated genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Empathetic and positive attitude towards people with learning disabilities.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to drive for the role.
  • Flexible to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Contract & Hours:

  • Full‑time 37.5 hours per week.
  • Shifts – 07:00–10:00 days, 10:00–07:00 nights. Sleep‑in available.

Pay & Benefits:

  • £26,228 per annum (pro‑rata).
  • Additional pay for sleep‑in: £64.20 flat rate.
  • Benefits include 24 days paid holiday (excluding bank holidays, pro‑rata), health cash plans, interest‑free loans, and retail discounts.
