Mencap is seeking Passionate Relief Support Workers to join our team in Leeds – LS17. As a Relief Support Worker you will provide daily activity assistance and emotional support to individuals with learning disabilities, helping them pursue their goals and increase independence. Your work may include encouraging self‑care, facilitating recreational activities such as cooking, gardening, sports, travel training, and independent shopping. Many of our clients use mobility cars; being a driver with a full UK licence is preferred. The service operates 24‑hour care, with rotas scheduled at least four weeks in advance.
What we’re looking for:
- A genuine passion for supporting others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
- A driver with a full UK licence is preferred for this role.
Contract options:
- Days: Between 07:00–10:00
- Waking nights: 10:00–07:00
- There is also a sleep‑in available, which includes an enhanced flat-rate payment of £64.20.
