You will be working within a supported living service located in the NE8 area, providing support to a young Jewish gentleman. The service operates 24/7. He is largely independent and does not require any personal care; your role will focus on supporting his overall wellbeing.

As part of the role, you will be mindful of and sensitive to Jewish cultural practices and traditions. This may include awareness of dietary requirements such as keeping kosher, understanding the significance of Shabbat (from Friday evening to Saturday evening), and being respectful of Jewish festivals and observances. Supporting him in maintaining routines that align with his faith and cultural identity is an important aspect of the role.

The other gentleman you will support is in his early 30s, has spina bifida, and uses a wheelchair. He lives at home and receives 2:1 support when accessing activities in the community. He enjoys days out, socialising, and has a real love for music. He has a fun, lively personality, and staff build a strong, positive bond with him.

What we’re looking for:

  • A genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.

All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life! There is also a sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70. All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.

We are an equitable, diverse and inclusive organisation and we particularly welcome and encourage disabled applicants and those from the Black and Asian communities to apply for the role as they are under-represented within the workforce.
