A great opportunity has arisen for a 3-month secondment position for an Assistant Service Manager to join our person-centered services in Epsom.
This is a great opportunity to develop your skills and experience in a management role.
You will be supporting the Service Manager in the continued smooth operation of the supported living service in this area by undertaking agreed management tasks.
We are looking for someone with fresh ideas, energetic, passionate, trustworthy and is forward thinking.
An understanding of autism and complex behaviours is desirable for us to be able to meet the needs of the people we support at the services effectively.
In addition to undertaking managerial tasks, you would also still do some front-line work with the people we support and act as a role model, demonstrating good practice to other members of the team.
You would work 3 days off rota to support the Service Manager and 2 days on shift
You would support the Service Manager to
- Manage the Shared Lives service through home visits, regular reviews and ongoing supervision.
- Support the team with high-quality recording of outcomes and day to day support.
- Provide guidance and support to staff and carers, helping identify training and development needs.
- Ensure H&S checks are completed
- Monitor medication supplies
- Complete monthly PWS finance checks
- Ensuring infection control guidance in place is been followed and monitored
- Quality monitoring i. e. keeping the MAT up to date
- Work closely with social workers, healthcare professionals, local authorities, families, and other agencies to coordinate support.
You will need to be able to demonstrate Mencap’s core values in all that you do.
You will also need to demonstrate your professionalism, ability to work under pressure, priorities your workload and follow Mencap policies and procedures.
