Join our Supported Internship team in Islington on a full‑time basis. As an Employer Engagement Officer, you will be central to the delivery of the Mencap Training Academy, ensuring suitable and high‑quality work experience and paid opportunities for learners with SEN on the Supported Internship Programme.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high‑quality support is given to each learner.
  • Track placement information and progress toward paid opportunities.
  • Act as an ambassador for Mencap and deliver learning disability awareness sessions to employers.
  • Work with the Senior Skills Coach to plan skills support hours and meet Access to Work funding targets.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with parents, carers, learner support networks and employers.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date record‑keeping and reporting.
  • Conduct quality assurance activities to drive constant improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with the wider team to meet learners’ needs.

Qualifications (Essential)

  • Understanding of employment and education programmes.
  • Ability to plan and manage workload independently.
  • Ability to build professional relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • In‑depth knowledge and experience of engaging with employers.
  • Track record of securing paid work outcomes and delivering against targets.
  • Strong communication, record‑keeping and organisational skills.
  • Experience of supported employment.

  • Excellent team‑player with strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm to support young people with SEN.
