We are looking for a Support Worker to join our Service based in Chesterfield on a permanent part-time basis (30 or 20 hour contract per week). Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings, sleep ins, weekends and bank holidays. The ability to work in the evening and at weekends is a requirement for this position.

About the Service: We are currently supporting one gentleman and one young lady with a team of support workers. The people we support enjoy being out in the community, visiting shops, going to the pub, and participating in community activities. The individuals may show challenging behaviour, so experience in this area would be ideal. However, previous experience is not essential as full training will be provided, including positive behaviour support training.

What does a Support Worker do? As a Support Worker, you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that helps ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated, and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and possess a naturally caring and patient personality. Typical responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments, and cooking healthy meals.
  • Relationship building – supporting individuals to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
  • Community & Social Inclusion - assisting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
  • Personal care - helping individuals get ready for the day, which may include prompting medication and assisting with bathing, showering, and using the bathroom. Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.

All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references. Benefits include 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time), ongoing training and development opportunities, and a supportive and inclusive work environment where your contributions are valued.
