At Connaught Court, our Outstanding-rated care home in York, we're seeking a compassionate and motivated Dementia Unit Manager to lead our specialist dementia service. This is an opportunity to guide a dedicated team, champion best practice in person-centred dementia care and create a therapeutic environment where residents feel safe, valued and at home.
RMNs will have the opportunity to use their expertise in dementia, mental wellbeing and person-centred care to influence best practice, support colleagues and help shape the quality of care across the service. About the Role
As Dementia Unit Manager, you'll lead and inspire a team delivering exceptional, personalised dementia care. You'll:
- Lead a specialist dementia care team
- Oversee care planning and clinical standards
- Support and develop colleagues through coaching and mentorship
- Champion person-centred dementia care approaches
- Build positive relationships with residents and families
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic and engaging environment
- Drive continuous improvement and best practice across the service
What You'll Bring
Essential
- Current NMC registration as an RMN or NVQ/Diploma Level 3 (or above) with ambition to achieve Level 4
- Experience supporting people living with dementia
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- A calm, organised and compassionate approach
Desirable
- Dementia-specific qualifications or training
- Previous leadership or management experience within dementia care
