Join our Haematology team as a Senior Clinical Pharmacy Technician and play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within an evolving service. This exciting opportunity has arisen as we are expanding our Ambulatory Inpatient (AMBIN) model, enabling patients to receive specialist haematology treatments safely outside of an inpatient setting—reducing hospital stays and supporting care closer to home. This role places patients at the heart of everything we do. You will support the safe, effective, and timely management of medicines, helping to ensure a smooth and compassionate treatment journey. By contributing to the growth of our AMBIN service, you will directly improve patient experience, reduce unnecessary bed days, and support more efficient use of medicines. We are a friendly, experienced, and multidisciplinary team committed to collaboration, continuous improvement, and delivering the highest standards of care.
Main duties of the job:
- To develop, maintain and manage the safe, efficient, and cost-effective supply of medicines to patients within the Haemato-Oncology Unit.
- To deliver quality care primarily to patients in the Haemato-Oncology ambulatory inpatient (AMBIn) setting through efficient medicines optimisation, and when necessary, provide wider support for all Haemato-Oncology patients by undertaking the assessment of patient’s own medication, medicines reconciliation, individual patient dispensing, discharge planning and patient/carer education on medicines.
- To support with clinical audits, data collection and implementation of developments to enhance the needs of the patient.
- To support the Lead Pharmacist – Haemato-Oncology and Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMP) and Lead Haemato-Oncology Pharmacy Technician with the delivery of any service developments associated within the clinical pharmacy service to meet local and national requirements.
- To participate with the dispensing, final checking and issuing of medicines to deliver a safe service.
- To support with the operational duties of the dispensary, or medication supply hubs when required and in agreement with Lead Pharmacist – Haemato-Oncology and Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMP) and Lead Haemato-Oncology Pharmacy Technician.
