Job Summary
Permanent contract – 37 hours per week, working 5 days (Sunday‑Thursday) between 14:00 and 22:00. Location: Yorkshire Parcel Hub, WF6 2XX.
About the role
This is a large parcel hub that primarily handles oversize parcels up to 30 kg. At times two people are required to lift items. Throughout the shift you will move across different work areas of the building or work on a machine belt with a team. Your tasks include unloading mail from vans, moving it around in trolleys, sorting parcels and letters manually and operating sorting machinery. You will be expected to keep up the pace in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Unload mail from delivery vans and transport it to sorting areas.
- Move items using trolleys and in different work areas of the building.
- Sort parcels and letters manually or by operating sorting machinery.
- Operate machine belts as part of a team.
- Handle election materials and certain items such as food products or alcohol in line with Royal Mail business standards.
- Maintain a consistent pace and meet shift targets, adapting quickly to changing tasks on the sorting chain.
