Collection and Network Driver – Tonbridge Delivery Office, TN9 1AA.

Job type: Permanent contract. Hours: 20 hours per week, 5 days Mon‑Sun, 15:00‑19:00. Possible Sunday cover and duty at surrounding offices.

Overview

We are reinventing Royal Mail and this role offers you the chance to deliver more than just letters and parcels. You’ll bring trust to the doorstep by checking post‑boxes, visiting business customers, collecting the mail, and delivering it to processing centres.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and operate a manual delivery vehicle on a fixed route.
  • Check post‑boxes and collect outgoing mail.
  • Visit business customers at pre‑arranged times to collect mail.
  • Deliver items to processing centres ensuring accurate sorting.
  • Handle and deliver election materials and special items such as food and alcohol in line with Royal Mail standards.
  • Cover duties on Sundays where required.
  • Cover duties at other offices in the surrounding area when needed.

Qualifications

  • Upbeat, independent and self‑motivated.
  • People‑oriented, able to interact warmly with customers.
  • Able to walk for long periods and work outdoors in any weather.
  • Strong sense of community and pride in work.
  • Flexible with shift patterns.
  • Full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
