MGV Driver role at Royal Mail, Glasgow Mail Centre, St Rollox Business Park, Glasgow, G21 1AA. Job Reference Number 329426.
Responsibilities
- Be the public face of Royal Mail as part of the driving team and an established part of the community.
- Drive a van and collect bulk mail from major customers and Post Offices.
- Transport mail between Mail Centres and Delivery Offices at prearranged times.
- Load and unload your van and sort mail for onward distribution.
About You
- Upbeat, self-motivated and able to work alone or in a team.
- Flexible with shift patterns; enjoys outdoor work in all weather.
- Comfortable with walking on every round and staying active.
- Some experience in a customer-facing role is ideal.
Driving Licence Requirements
- C1 Category licence (current UK address) with no more than 6 penalty points; ideally a clean licence.
- Periodic Driver CPC qualification and hold a valid Driver Qualification Card (DQC) with 35 hours of training.
- Digital Tachograph Card required if selected for assessment.
Pay and Benefits
- Paid weekly, with overtime and shift allowance where applicable.
- Salary: £602.60 per week pro rata.
- Hours: Temporary 5 months placement, full-time 38 hours/week. Tuesday–Friday 14:00–22:00 and Saturday 10:00–18:00.
- Other benefits include: holiday entitlement starts at 22.5 days (pro rata), contributory pension, career development opportunities, uniform (for contracts longer than 3 months), leave policies, cycle-to-work scheme, and various discounts.
