How to prepare for a job interview at Royal Mail

✨Know Your Community

As a Postie, you'll be delivering to your local area, so it's crucial to know the community you're serving. Research the neighbourhood, understand its unique characteristics, and think about how you can connect with the residents. This will show your potential employer that you genuinely care about the people you’ll be delivering to.

✨Show Off Your Driving Skills

Since a full UK manual driving licence is required, be prepared to discuss your driving experience during the interview. Highlight any relevant driving jobs you've had, and if possible, share examples of how you've handled challenging driving conditions. This will demonstrate your capability and reliability behind the wheel.

✨Emphasise Your Customer Service Skills

Being a Postie is all about great customer service. Think of examples from your past experiences where you went above and beyond for customers. Whether it was resolving an issue or simply being friendly, these anecdotes will help illustrate your people skills and commitment to delivering excellent service.

✨Prepare for Physical Questions

This role involves a lot of walking and working outdoors, so be ready to discuss your physical fitness and willingness to work in various weather conditions. You might want to mention any previous roles that required physical stamina, as this will reassure the interviewer that you’re up for the challenge.
