We are currently recruiting for a Mobile Plumbing and Heating Engineer covering the Glasgow & Paisley postcode area.
Salary: £39,148.30 per annum plus standby allowance £290 per week when on rota, and appropriate overtime rate when attending the call. 22.5 days annual leave, rising to 25 after 5 years’ service plus bank holidays.
Contract: Permanent, Full time 37.5 hours per week (excluding meal breaks). Typical hours are 08:00–16:00, Monday to Friday; flexibility is essential. You’ll join an out-of-hours callout rota 1 in 4 weeks and work across multiple sites within a defined area. A company vehicle will be provided to support travel.
Your excellent communication skills will help you build strong relationships with customers and managers, and strong organisational skills are essential to manage workload and ensure smooth project delivery.
As a Mobile Plumbing & Heating Engineer, you will provide technical diagnosis and solutions, performing routine maintenance checks related to Gas and Hot & Cold Water systems with some electrical maintenance. You will perform fault finding, maintenance, repair and installation of these systems and regularly liaise with customers.
About You
- Hold a recognised plumbing and domestic gas qualification (CCN1 plus appliance modules).
- Experience or qualifications in commercial gas work (e.g., COCN1 or CODNCO1) would be an advantage, although training will be provided.
- Experience maintaining gas equipment / pipe work and hot and cold water systems.
- 18th edition or supplementary electrical skills will be highly desirable.
- Experience of completing job certificates in an electronic format.
- Full UK Driving Licence is required, as this vacancy will involve travel within a specified area for which a van will be provided.
- Demonstrable experience of liaising with customers.
- Experience of working alone or as part of a team.
- A good level of PC literacy.
