We are now recruiting for a Fabric Technician covering the West Yorkshire area.
Salary: £31,453.09 per annum (dependent upon skills and experience), plus standby allowance c£260 per week when on rota, and appropriate overtime rate when attending the call. 22.5 days annual leave, rising to 25 with 5 years’ service, plus bank holidays.
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (excluding meal breaks). Typical hours are 08:00 - 16:00, Monday to Friday. The successful applicant will join an out-of-hours callout rota (1 in 5/6 weeks) covering a wider area. Flexibility around attendance is essential.
You will cover postcodes: (LS) Leeds, (BD) Bradford, (HD) Huddersfield, (HX) Halifax, and (WF) Wakefield.
About the roleYou will be the primary contact for end users and main customers, working closely with colleagues including Building Engineering Technicians, Asset Technicians, and Fabric Team Managers. Your role involves providing expert knowledge of the Building Fabric industry to ensure a first-class service, keeping premises secure and safe. You will apply your skills and experience to resolve fabric-related issues and complete projects, ensuring full compliance with health and safety policies to protect colleagues, customers, and the public.
About youWe seek someone who is computer literate, especially in electronic management systems and email, with effective communication skills to listen actively and convey messages clearly at all levels. Practical experience in carpentry, wet trades, and a good knowledge of Building Fabric products are essential. A full UK manual driving license with no more than 6 penalty points is required.
