An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Royal Mail as an Export Channel Development Manager. In this role you'll lead the channel strategy for the consumer export profit centre which represents c.£300m of revenue and gross profit of c.£140m.
The focus is on driving the development of a consumer channel strategy to allocate resources effectively and deliver targeted returns across physical, digital, and marketplace channels. The specific goal is to address the decline in sales and propel the consumer channels towards growth in alignment with the overall market trend.
About The RoleIn this role you'll:
- Be accountable for achievement of specific profit / revenue / volume targets across multiple channels and development of analytical framework to drive delivery of an integrated consumer channel strategy.
- Be responsible for the International Export consumer tariff pricing strategy across all sales channels, ad hoc pricing changes and corresponding reporting on effects.
- Be accountable for critical relationship and product enhancements and developments to protect and grow major marketplaces such as Etsy (£16m), eBay (£2.5m).
- Build propositions for online and POL channels and work with cross functional teams to deliver solutions that drive consumer strategy.
- Align export consumer strategy where appropriate with that of domestic and work closely with multiple functions including domestic, technology, legal and others to drive performance.
- Develop roadmap of targeted interventions to increase credibility of RM export offer for current and potential marketplaces, critically including commercial engagement and development plan with Amazon.
- Develop and manage marketing and sector engagement plan working with Sales, marketing, external agencies, Group Comms/ PR and others.
- Agree and implement performance management and profit growth approach and framework aligned with domestic teams but focused on needs of Export.
- Work closely with Pricing and Finance to develop more dynamic pricing approach focused on key lanes by channel.
- Ensure that the overall consumer proposition is tailored and calibrated by channel with commercial development roadmap in place and managed to improve offer, drive growth and fully align with Export Portfolio Transformation.

- Bachelor's degree in related field.

- Proven leadership experience in international logistics.
- Proven track record of channel management including delivery of initiatives to drive profitable growth across multiple channels simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative leadership approach.
- In-depth knowledge of the UK parcel market and sales channels.
- Proficient in data-driven decision-making, utilizing analytics tools to inform strategies.
