Royal Mail is delivering a major value creation and cost transformation programme, central to the organisation’s future performance. To support this ambition, we are seeking an exceptional Value Creation Delivery Lead to join the Transformation function within the Value Creation Office (VCO). This is a senior, embedded delivery role with genuine ownership and influence. You will hold end-to-end accountability for delivering value, working across a defined cluster of corporate and operational functions and partnering directly with Executive Board sponsors and senior leaders.

As the Value Creation Delivery Lead, you will act as the VCO’s single point of accountability for your function cluster, owning both senior relationships and delivery outcomes. This is not a PMO or support role. You will be expected to challenge constructively, improve delivery discipline, and ensure that value commitments convert into tangible, measurable results. You will operate at the heart of Royal Mail’s transformation agenda, shaping priorities, resolving complexity and influencing decisions at Executive and Board level.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Owning relationships with Executive Board leads and senior stakeholders across your function cluster, acting as a trusted partner and confident challenger.
  • Driving delivery of complex, multi-workstream initiatives, ensuring plans are credible, well-governed and focused on real value outcomes.
  • Coaching and challenging initiative leads to raise the quality of plans, accountability and execution pace.
  • Identifying and actively managing interdependencies, risks and blockers, escalating decisively where required.
  • Providing targeted, hands-on "SWAT" support to high-value or at-risk initiatives to keep delivery on track.
  • Tracking, validating and assuring financial value in close partnership with Finance, ensuring benefits are accurately baselined and realised.
  • Directing and overseeing third-party consultants and Royal Mail resources deployed within your portfolio.
  • Producing clear, robust reporting for SteerCo and programme governance forums.

What We’re Looking For

  • A strong track record in strategy consulting, transformation or complex programme delivery (Manager level or equivalent).
  • Experience operating across multiple business functions and senior stakeholder groups simultaneously.
  • Sharp commercial judgement and the ability to focus teams on what truly drives value.
  • Confidence, credibility and gravitas at Executive level.
  • Excellent structuring, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience of cost transformation, value creation or operational improvement programmes.
  • Experience working alongside consulting firms on large-scale transformations (desirable).
  • A degree from a leading university is required; an MBA or postgraduate qualification is advantageous but not essential.

Remuneration

Highly competitive salary plus car allowance, healthcare, 35% annual bonus potential, 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays and a company pension scheme with highly competitive contribution rates.

Why join

This is a rare opportunity to take real accountability for delivery at enterprise scale, with exposure to the most senior leaders in the organisation. You will play a defining role in shaping Royal Mail’s future performance, with clear ownership, pace and impact.

Extra Benefits

  • Family friendly support – enhanced maternity pay, paternity leave, adoption leave and shared parental leave.
  • Supportive and generous company sick pay.
  • Funded Dental – As a manager you are eligible to a level of employer funded dental insurance.
  • Health Assessment – As a manager you are eligible to an employer funded health assessment every 2 years.
  • Benefits Account – You will have access to your personal benefits account on our ‘My Bundle+’ platform with over 800 retail offers.
  • Your Wellbeing – you and your family have 24/7 access to services and tools for physical, mental, financial and social support and advice. It’s free and for everyone.

Available only to permanent employees. Closing Date: Friday 5th June 2026. Please note, this advert may close early if the appropriate number of applications has been reached.
