Cyber Security Architect – RMG is strengthening its cyber capability and looking for an experienced Cyber Security Architect to shape, guide, and safeguard the organisation’s technology landscape. This is a senior, influential role at the heart of our Cyber Portfolio and Architecture function—balancing strategic vision with pragmatic, real‑world delivery. About The Role
As a Cyber Security Architect, you will be responsible for ensuring RMG’s technology, platforms, and information systems are designed, procured, and operated securely—aligned to business risk appetite and budget realities. You’ll act as a trusted advisor and senior broker between Group Technology teams, business units, Security Operations, and Cyber Governance, Risk & Controls. This role demands the ability to translate complex technical issues into meaningful business context, challenge assumptions, and guide teams toward acceptable security outcomes—not theoretical perfection.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Strategic Leadership
- Shape and support the delivery of RMG’s Cybersecurity strategy.
- Contribute to the development and rollout of security architecture blueprints and technical standards across RMG and partner organisations.
- Ensure risks are managed in line with Board‑level risk appetite.
- Stakeholder Influence
- Engage confidently with mid‑ and senior‑level stakeholders across Technology and the business.
- Communicate complex security issues in clear, accessible language.
- Encourage deeper thinking around risk, impact, and business priorities.
- Pragmatic Security Guidance
- Provide timely, accurate, and business‑aligned security advice across change and BAU programmes.
- Support the Architecture Concurrence Process to embed security principles early and effectively.
- Security Architecture Delivery
- Integrate security into software development, infrastructure, platforms, and cloud adoption.
- Lead threat modelling and security impact assessments.
- Define risk‑based security requirements and ensure alignment with RMG’s Security Architecture.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Track emerging technologies, standards, and patterns—piloting and adopting where appropriate.
- Contribute to the maturity and effectiveness of RMG’s security architecture and controls.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to drive continuous improvement.
- Commercial & Business Awareness
- Understand RMG’s revenue‑generating operations and how technology enables them.
- Ensure security supports business goals and enhances user experience.

- Degree‑level education or equivalent experience in Technology or Cyber Security.
- Relevant security architecture certifications (e.g., SABSA, TOGAF, CISSP‑ISSAP).
- Additional security operations certifications (e.g., CISM, CRISC, SANS, CISSP, GIAC) are advantageous.
