Overview
In this role you will support and lead the Midlands Super Hub operation alongside the Lead Distribution Manager to ensure efficient, compliant, and high‑quality distribution service. You will help optimise a large VOC operation and wider national linehaul, working with cross‑functional stakeholders to implement improvements and trial new technologies. You’ll contribute to a culture of engagement and performance, balancing day‑to‑day delivery with strategic initiatives. This is a hands‑on, impact‑driven position at Royal Mail’s largest automated parcel facility.

Responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day VOC operation and performance at the Midlands Super Hub
- Ensure compliance with fleet/truck safety and legislative requirements (O’ Licence)
- Build and manage stakeholder relationships across pipelines, customer teams, fleet, assets and agencies
- Develop and deploy actions to ensure safety, quality, and legal compliance
- Utilise balanced scorecard and KPIs to review performance and close gaps with continuous improvement
- Manage individual and team performance through TOMs, 121s and personal development plans
- Ensure distribution/VOC systems compliance (Vision, Joined Up, LINK)
Key requirements
- Industry experience in logistics and distribution operations
- Knowledge of safety requirements and accident investigation
- Knowledge of UK road transport legislation; CPC qualification within 12 months ideally
- Understanding of Network Planning tools and Royal Mail policies/processes
- Experience using VOC management systems
- Strategic planning and project management; data/budgetary analysis
