Overview

Automation Maintenance Technician (Pool) at Royal Mail, Plymouth Mail Centre, Plymstock, PL9 7XX. The role supports a 24/7 operation with a pool arrangement to cover annual leave and sickness across automation assets.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance tasks, including preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance on automation assets
  • Carry out continuous improvement activities
  • Provide effective and efficient support to the Engineering Manager, Maintenance Team Leader and Engineering Team Coaches; complete end-of-shift reports, fault logging and data entry
  • Identify root causes of automation breakdowns and prioritize corrective actions to meet operational requirements
  • Monitor equipment performance and work with operational stakeholders to improve automation outputs
  • Identify and participate in Continuous Improvement projects from conception to implementation for machinery in the Hub/Mail Centre
  • Work on own initiative and as part of a team to achieve shared goals

About You (Qualifications)

You should be an experienced multi-skilled engineer qualified in electrical and mechanical engineering (minimum ONC Electrical Engineering or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent). You should have knowledge of health and safety legislation and hands-on experience maintaining automation equipment, with a flexible approach and the ability to communicate complex issues effectively.

You are required to hold a full UK driving licence as occasional travel to other sites may be required.
