Following a period of exciting transformation and growth at Royal Mail Group, we are looking for a Strategic Business Development Manager to drive commercial expansion within the logistics and eCommerce sectors, both domestically and internationally. In this pivotal new role you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, fostering relationships with key industry stakeholders, working alongside a team of Business Development Managers and Sales Development Representatives to achieve ambitious revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities

Establish and cultivate relationships with senior executives in the logistics and eCommerce industries, identifying strategic opportunities for business growth

Analyse market trends to develop and implement commercially viable solutions that align with client needs and industry advancements

Lead high value negotiations and pitch processes, ensuring the successful conversion of new business prospects

Manage and motivate a high performing team, ensuring the delivery of increasing revenue growth and the achievement of key performance indicators

Provide expert consultancy on logistics and eCommerce strategies, positioning Royal Mail as the market leader

Offer thought leadership, both internally and externally, on evolving eCommerce trends and business innovations

Skills & Experience

Strong experience in successfully engaging with senior and board-level executives to secure high-value business partnerships within eCommerce, logistics or express/guaranteed sectors

Strong influencing and negotiation skills

Extensive industry networks and the capability to identify and exploit emerging market opportunities

Expertise in developing commercially focused sales pipelines and delivering strategic new business initiatives

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in creating compelling business cases, presentations, and related sales material
