Royal Mail Relay. First established in 1999, Relay services customers across Government, financial, premium retail and healthcare sectors who all have one thing in common – the requirement for the very best logistics partner.
Royal Mail Relay provides market leading, bespoke, scheduled collection and next day delivery service for organisations with multiple sites around the UK. We operate from 15 depots based across the country, servicing over 100 customer contracts with a dedicated team of around 350 employees.
Our network is secure, self-sufficient and independent. We also operate to higher-than-normal security & vetting standards due to government compliance and our customer needs, where we are key holders for many of our customers locations. Our drivers cover a massive 10 million miles per year so a love for the road is a must!
A bit about the role
- Planning your route each day using route-planning technology.
- Collecting and delivering pouches, parcels, tote boxes to small and large businesses on a designated route.
- Scanning items on and off route to ensure tracking information is available to customers and colleagues.
A bit about you
- Valid UK driving licence: full, manual UK licence for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes, registered at your current UK address, with no more than 6 penalty points. You will need to show this at assessment.
- Self-motivated and reliable: upbeat, able to work unsupervised, take pride in your work, and meet tight timelines.
- Multi-drop delivery: comfortable driving for long periods and delivering parcels up to 30kg, throughout the week, including peak traffic hours. Familiarity with digital route planning tools or a willingness to learn is essential.
- Flexible to service demands: willing to work paid overtime, including Saturdays, and support colleagues to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Customer service: excellent communication skills and a commitment to outstanding customer service.
- Able to pass background checks: able to prove Right to Work in the UK and pass basic criminal record and financial security checks. *
