We have a vacancy for a Maintenance Team Leader to join our dedicated Engineering team at the Northern Ireland Mail Centre. In this key role, you'll provide first line technical leadership, guidance and support to engineers across the Mail Centre, ensuring our automation equipment performs at its best. As a leader within our engineering function, you'll deliver a high quality maintenance service that keeps our operation running smoothly and efficiently, owning the Mail Centre maintenance plan to ensure our automation assets meet performance and availability targets.
Responsibilities- Manage a team of automation engineers and team coaches — develop, motivate the team through coaching, training and development.
- Own and co-ordinate the Mail Centre maintenance plan for automation equipment, ensuring asset performance and availability criteria are achieved.
- Lead daily preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance to optimise automation assets.
- Act as the technical link between engineering and operations, communicating maintenance plans and updates to the engineering teams.
- Oversee implementation of approved equipment modifications and maintain configuration accuracy.
- Conduct audits, support reporting, data collection and root cause analysis for maintenance, performance events, breakdowns and faults.
- Manage engineering risk assessments and ensure Safe Systems of Work are accurate and displayed.
- Monitor maintenance costs and manage engineering tools and spares using SAP.
- Ensure technical resources meet operational and maintenance demands.
- Provide hands-on support for ad-hoc maintenance and modification duties.
Attendance
Monday to Friday, approx 07:30 – 16:00 with a degree of flexibility.
About You
You need to demonstrate the following skills and experience on your application.
- Extensive background in automation engineering and maintenance.
- Hold an electrical engineering qualification – NVQ 3/ONC/HNC or equivalent (essential).
- Experience in leading large teams of engineers, providing technical leadership, guidance, and support to the team and senior stakeholders.
- Experience in reporting, data analysis and using SAP-based systems.
