We are currently recruiting for a Mobile Electrical Service and Maintenance / HVAC Engineer covering the North East of England.

Salary: £39,148.30 per annum, 22.5 days annual leave, rising to 25 after 5 years' service plus bank holidays.

Contract: Permanent, Full time 37.5 hours per week (excluding meal breaks) - typical attendance will be 08:00 until 16:00 Monday to Friday; however, flexibility is essential.

You will cover postcodes (NE) Newcastle, (SR) Sunderland, (DH) Durham, (DL) Darlington and (TS) Teeside. There may be a future requirement for you to join the out of hours callout rota.

In this role, you will be expected to have excellent technical knowledge of HVAC, lighting systems, mechanical, power and control wiring. You will be expected to work on multiple FM systems with the majority of the work being FM tasks within their core buildings and within the larger area. You will need a flexible approach to work and be willing to travel to different sites within a specified geographical area. A vehicle will be provided for required travel.

A requirement to have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to discuss work and progress with customers and managers.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Analyse and understand complex technical issues in relation to electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning and lighting systems.
  • Manage the delivery of planned and corrective maintenance to meet the performance measures detailed in the contract.
  • Liaise with customers' representatives on a day to day basis to ensure customer requirements are fully met.
  • Check and ensure all appropriate and approved paperwork is completed.
  • Make personal judgments on how to undertake work to achieve cost, quality and contractual objectives without jeopardising safety in any way.
  • Act as a role model for safety, setting an example to colleagues and customers.
  • Manage the relationship with the customer, and liaise with customers to ensure that the customer is fully informed and project a positive professional image of self and Royal Mail.
